Mountain Side Off Road Park

Obstacle Description

Mud Pit: The mud pit is the first area that you come to as you make your way into the park. The pit is designed to have a hard bottom with slop laid on top to minimize traction. Water levels are kept low in all of the pits. However the pit closest to check in named the soup bowl is deep. All three lanes have a rock face ledge to climb on your way out. The rock face is not steep but it will offer some what of a challenge with wet and muddy tires.

The lane closest to the top side is the most aggressive with deep mud and steep banks to climb up in order to exit. The lower two lanes before the open pit area can be accomplished with a mild 4X4 vehicle. The last area of the mud pit offers a wide area to play in and a wide steep hill climb to challenge your rig. The open pit has a hard bottom that offers wheel spinning fun for everybody from 31’s to what ever you can fit on your rig.

We also have two large truck tires with D-Rings and straps attached to pull around in the pit for an additional challenge. The smaller tire is approximately 600 pounds and the larger tire is close to 1000 pounds. Think you could pull them? HOOK'EM UP!

Soup Bowl:

At the top of the mud pit is the most aggressive pit. It is designed to have the deepest mud and the highest level of difficulty. The hole is designed to self drain as the water level rises so that it will produce thick deep mud without a lot of water. It has a steep dirt climb on one end and a slick rock climb on the other end.

Rock Garden: The rock garden that is near check in at the mud pit area is designed to allow stock 4x4 vehicles a place to play, but can also be aggressive enough for more extreme vehicles depending on the line you choose.

Hill Climbs: The hill climbs are past the mud pit. The first hill climb you come to is extremely mild, but as you make your way down the trail trying the different hill climbs the degree of difficulty increases. Some of these hill climbs have terraces while others have steep off camber grades. One has a mixture of both. All hill climbs exit at the top parking area near the mud pit.

Rock Crawls: There are many climbs currently opened with more to come. These climbs range from mild simple climbs to extremely challenging. Be sure to watch others first or walk and look at the entire climb before attempting them. Some of the climbs have a double ledge that will allow a mild stock 4X4 to go to the first ledge and be able to watch more capable rigs attempt harder obstacles going up the second ledge. The first ledge on the right side of the property has a road that runs the entire distance of the ledge. It is called “Donkey’s Ledge”. That road will lead rigs to the other climbs and back down to the mud pit area.

Rev Limiter: This is an aggressive slab of rock that is nearly 30’ tall and lays back at approximately 65 degrees. It is about forty-five feet wide and offers several travel lanes. At the top of the wall is a big open area to get stopped in and offers several other climbs from there.

Flash Over: Follow the main road toward the top of the mountain and you will come to Flash Over. It offers several lines and ledges to choose from. This climbs is cut into the mountain side to bed rock, but it is constantly changing.

Full Throttle: On the right hand side of Flash Over is the Full Throttle climb. This climb has twin ledges with a right and left turn about mid point. Loose rock and dirt makes this climb really fun.

Goose Bumps: This climb is to the left of Rev Limiter. It has several small grooves or in set ledges for your tire to grab. Don’t be fooled by the description, it is easier to the left between the two pines and almost impossible to the right.

Mild Climbs: We have designed our park with everybody in mind. We know that not every body has an extreme rock buggy, but everyone with a four wheel drive wants to ride. We have laid our park out so that a stock 4x4 can play in view of a serious rock buggy. The rocks on the right and left side of the main road have easy climbs and easy trails that loop back the other climbs. Some easy climbs run side by side with harder climbs to keep groups from splitting up just to ride.

Trails to Ride: Lazy Days, Rock Garden Loop, Twin Branches, Eagles Nest Loop, Camp Ground Loop and the main road to the top of the mountain can all be driven with a stock 4x4.

Future Expansion: Canyon run, Obstacle Course, Balance bridge, Tug of War slick pad, Concession Stand with Bath houses.
